Lake Hartwell Real Estate

Lake Hartwell is one of the largest lakes in the Southeast covering nearly 56,000 acres and having 962 miles of shoreline.  Much of the lake was inherited from the Cherokee Indians and many of the streams that make up the lake are said to have been named by a young Indian Maiden named Issaqueena.  Those streams and several recreation areas still care those names today.

Lake Hartwell is host to many professional fishing tournaments and recreational fisherman love the Bream, Catfish, Smallmouth and Largemouth Bass, and Walleye fishing.  Visitors from all over the southeast make Lake Hartwell an annual stop.  If fishing is not your thing, you will not be left out.  Camping sites, Biking trails, watersports, and swimming calls residents and visitors almost year round.  Places to visit are Issaqueena Dam, Eighteen Mile Creek, Ghost Island, and Andersonville Island.  With something for everyone, Lake Hartwell is a wonderful place to call home.
