About Keowee Key
The Club at Keowee Key
The Club at Keowee Key serves as the “Hub” of the community, where residents meet to socialize, enjoy meals and participate in various clubs and planned events. The Club’s award-winning chef creates a tantalizing array of choices for lunch and dinner daily. Five dining venues are available, designed to satisfy personal taste and preference. Whatever you choose, from casual to formal dining, from a bistro to a sports bar, the warm and friendly staff will make you feel welcome.
The Club is the center for our arts community with working space for artists and gallery walls. Adjacent to the Club is the Event Center, providing larger conference space fully equipped with up to date audio visual capabilities for meetings and club catered events. There is even a member library, with thousands of books available.
Keowee Key’s George Cobb designed championship golf course is completely renovated by Richard Mandell, and re-opened in the Fall of 2019. This 6,426-yard, 18-hole, par 72 course is nearing certification in the Audubon Sanctuary Program, which promotes environmental stewardship.
With its demanding topography, the course is a distinct and fair challenge to any golfer, and five tee boxes are offered to match varying skill levels. The golf club features three full-time golf professionals, all expert teachers, a fully stocked pro shop, electric golf carts and locker rooms. Practice facilities include a driving range, large putting green, chipping and bunker practice area.

Almost all Keowee Key lakefront homes have their own private docks, and there are five community dock locations with 324 boat slips, all with electricity. Two docks have gas pumps allowing residents on-the-water fuel service.
In addition, the community offers storage lot spaces for trailers and boats, a seasonal boat maintenance program, boat launching, power-washing service, and rental programs for pontoon boats, canoes, kayaks and paddleboards. Many residents’ favorite amenity is our paved Walking Trails. The Leisure Trail on the North side of our community stretches 2.6 miles along the shores of Lake Keowee, providing gorgeous lake views at every turn. Banks of azaleas and wild dogwood line the trail, which is lighted from dusk until dawn.
With drinking fountains, restrooms, covered gazebos, and a large pavilion with charcoal grill, the Leisure Trail is a convenient place to take a stroll or have an outdoor gathering. A children’s playground, and great sandy beach along the way add to the fun.
Our Southside Walking Trail runs 2.1 miles through beautiful pines and stretches the length of the community on the South side. This walk offers a bit more of a hilly grade and aerobic challenge.
Keowee Key boasts several parks and beaches along the shores of Lake Keowee. Two parks are wooded peninsulas jutting out into the northwest branch of Lake Keowee. Part of the original forest, they are shady, breezy and quiet, offering residents park benches, picnic tables, restrooms, small marinas and storage racks for their canoes and kayaks.
There are sandy beaches at North Marina, South Marina and Spinnaker Cove with restrooms and picnic facilities where residents and their families can enjoy the crystal-clear waters of Lake Keowee.
Keowee Key’s Dog Park allows dogs to play off-leash, with water and agility equipment provided. Separation is provided for small and large dogs. This park is a great social meeting place for dogs and their owners.
